 The
city of Baikalsk is
located on the shore of the lake Baikal at
170 km from Irkutsk along
the Transsib. Being
surrounded with mountains, Baikalsk has
an important advantage,
its micro climate
– it is warmer and there are no winds in winter. You
can get to Baikalsk by
trains or by auto / bus from
Irkutsk, 3 hour' drive.
For
the Siberians the skiing center is
known and popular for many years. Tourists,
sportsmen, schoolchildren come here to spend weekends and
holidays. In Baikalsk the big sports events
are regularly held.
It is here, in Baikalsk, the President V. Putin was skiing a few years ago.
The
skiing center is 2
km away from the town, at the foot of the mountain of 1000
m high.
The most of ski tracks are
facing the beautiful panorama view
of the lake Baikal. 10
main ski tracks of different level of complexity,
are laid along the eastern and
western slopes of
the mountain. The
total length of
ski tracks is
12 km. The length
of each track is 670 – 2170 m.
There are tracks for
beginners, fans, experience skiers; those
who like “spicy emotions” are
offered the extremals’ park. You

The capacity of each track is 700 – 900 pax
daily. 4 towing funicular roads
and 2 ski lifts are offered to
vacationers for lifting. The duration of lifting 5 – 16 minutes.
The facilities and
services are counted also for families and
children’s vacations.

skiing and
snowboarding visitors can spend evenings with
a big benefit for their health in
the sports center
“Baikal”, where in trainer and
sports halls they can play volleyball,
tennis, billiard, relax in a swimming
- pool, banya or sauna. Guests
are offered medical
treatment – infra
- red cabin, solarium, massage.
There is a necessary equipment
for the winter fishing and
outdoor activities,
such as one day guided hiking
through the Siberian winter taiga
forest.
