Day 1 Arrive in
Irkutsk. Trf to hotel.
Check in.
City sightseeing. You visit
the place of
foundation of Irkutsk
in the 17th century, the
eternal flame
to the Heroes,
Znamensky monastery and
the Polish cathedral.
The central street
of Irkutsk leads
to the embankment of the
Angara - river, the favorite place
of the inhabitants
of Irkutsk.
Decembrists’ museum with
a concert of
the romantic music
is the important
part of the
history of Irkutsk. The museum
keeps the vivid
history of the
Russian nobility, who
were sent on
exile to Siberia. They lived
here after the
hard labor at
mines, carried on
an intellectual
life, writing and discussing
works of art
and literature,
arranging musical concerts and
performances at home
in the winter
evenings. The concert will be
performed by the
local soloists.

museum, where you
will learn the
history of the
Irkutsk region.
Art gallery –
a rich collection
of the paintings
of the Russian
and Siberian famous
painters. A considerable
part of it
were gifted to
the museum by
the private collectors
and patrons.
Dinner with Russian
folklore music and
songs in a
small traktir . Here
you will be
welcomed by the
waitresses in Russian
sarafans, who will
serve you dishes
of the Russian
national cuisine. Musicians
in Russian national
costumes will sing
and play the
national instruments.
 Day
2 Trip to
Ust - Orda, the center of
the Buryat national
district, 1 hour
drive by bus.
The first
sightseeing is the Local
Lore museum. The
museum has an
exhibition of the
subjects, used by
the Buryats in
their life. Here
visitors learn about
traditions, customs and
way of life
of one of
the biggest nationality
of Siberia –
Buryats; you will
see also the
shaman’s properties.
Excursion around the museum
is followed by
the Buryat folklore
concert with a
shaman ritual. You
will hear the
tunes of the
steppe voices of
the Buryat local
folklore group “Steppe
Tunes”. Here tourists
are invited to
participate in the
folklore program and
men can try
their strength in
the Buryat national
fighting. In the end
of the program
you are offered
a lunch of
the Buryat cuisine,
taste of the
national drink “tarasun”
and eat “pozi”.
Return to Irkutsk.
Visit of the private
summer house –
dacha. Dacha with
a russian banya
– steam house
– has become
a tradition of
the Siberian people.
Almost each family
in summer spends
there their weekends
and vacations.
Barbecue at dacha with
vodka.
 Day 3 Transfer to
station. Trip to
Baikal by the
old Transsib - Circum Baikal railroad along the shore of Baikal. It was named
“the Golden Clasp
of the Transsib”.
Moving in a
comfortable train you
will enjoy the
picturesque landscapes of
Baikal, monuments to
the architectural
engineering construction: tunnels, galleries,
bridges and viaducts. See and
take pictures of
the old locomotive,
the permanent exhibit
of the old
Transsib. Transfer from
the port of Baikal to Listvyanka
by boat.
Arrival in Listvyanka.
Check in hotel.
Day 3 Excursion to
the ethnographical museum Taltsi.
The other name
is a museum
of the wooden
Siberian architecture,
where log houses, whole
peasants’ household yards
were brought to
the museum from
the Siberian villages,
which were under
threat to be
flooded after the
construction of the
hydro - power plants on Siberian
rivers.
Lunch at homestead “Sibirskaya
Zaimka”. You will
be offered the
simple Siberian hunter’s
meals, which originally
was cooked at
Zaimkas. Zaimka is
a name of
a remote log
house in a
Siberian taiga, where
Siberians lived going
for hunting.
 Excursion through Listvyanka
village to see the wooden
village church of
the saint Nicholas,
local souvenirs, the
place where Angara
- river flows
out of Baikal.
Climb up with
funicular road to
the mountain top
to enjoy the
panoramic overview of
Baikal and Angara.
Day 4 Limnological museum, which
was the branch
of the scientific
Institute of Limnology, and traditionally
it goes on
investigations of the
lake now. The
museum is the
source of the
interesting information
about Baikal, some guides
of the museum
are scientists of
Limnology. The most
enjoyable here is
a new aquarium
with Baikal seals
and fish.
Boat trip around
the lake combined
with a barbecue
on shore of
Baikal is offered
in the end
of the program.
This is one
more chance to
breath a cool
Baikal air and
watch the transparent
water of Baikal.
Day 5 Departure.
